2007 Audio Interview With RONNIE JAMES DIO Posted Online
May 16, 2011Orpheus Spiliotopoulos, the co-host of MTV Greece's "Headbangers Ball", has posted the unedited/uncut version of the audio interview he conducted with the legendary heavy metal singer Ronnie James Dio (DIO, ELF, RAINBOW, BLACK SABBATH, HEAVEN & HELL) on June 29, 2007 at the Rockwave festival in Greece. The interview was translated and published in the Greek edition of the Rock Hard magazine and was also broadcasted on Orpheus' online radio show at Hard Rock Radio Live.
Commented Spiliotopoulos: "[This is] my fondest memory of a true legend, one of rock/metal's greatest voices of all time, the magnificent Ronnie James Dio. You were an amazing human being. It was an honor to meet you."

Dio died of stomach cancer on the morning of May 16, 2010 at the age of 67.
He was renowned throughout the world as one of the greatest and most influential vocalists in heavy metal history.
The singer, who was recording and touring with SABBATH offshoot HEAVEN & HELL prior to his illness, was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2009. He underwent chemotherapy and made what is now his final public appearance in April 2010 at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards in Los Angeles.
